Hermitage, Pennsylvania is situated near several popular snow skiing destinations. Hidden Valley Ski Resort, for example, is a four-season resort located in Hidden Valley, Pennsylvania, just a 2-hour drive to the southeast. It offers 26 slopes and trails for all skill levels, Family-oriented activities like snow tubing and lessons are also available, as well as therapeutic and couples’ massages. Summertime visitors to Hidden Valley can enjoy the 18-hole championship course.
Just an hour to the north of Hermitage is Mount Pleasant of Edinboro, in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. Among its ten skiing and snowboarding trails are two advanced trails, four intermediate and four beginner trails, and six of the trails are enhanced with machine-made snow. Mount Pleasant also operates a tube park at the same facility, an eight-lane slope with a dedicated tube tow to bring tubers back to the top for another ride.
A little more than an hour’s drive to the northwest of Hermitage is Alpine Valley, a ski resort in the Cleveland suburb of Chesterland, Ohio. A bit smaller than the other two resorts, Alpine Valley offers 7 trails for skiers and snowboarders, at all three skill levels, as well as four lifts to being skiers to the top of the trails. A tubing area is also available.
